    Re: [2] Camaro SS RM '10 | Wednesday August 17 | DRC

Ugh, I didn't want to be leading on the last lap but the positioning started a lap earlier than I expected. I thought I might still have a chance if the second place car passed me early enough. Bada wasn't going to make that mistake though, he hung well back and timed it perfectly. I was a sitting duck, freight trained by bada , Choate and Rooster. Well played bada! Congrats, thats 2 in a row!!

I thought I was in good position to draft past Larry before the finish line, but when he zigged to the other side of the track I didn't follow quickly enough and ended up .066 second back. Great race Larry.

Nice win bada! And you were complaining from lack of speed in practice? Looks like you got all then speed you need, man!

Amazingly, it seems the "Demons of DRC" took the night off from antagonizing me last night. No Off's, No Spins, No Wrecks! Although its still not a top track for me, I'll be careful not to say anything bad in the future ..... for once, DRC treated me well!

Robiker - Cant say enough how much I enjoyed racing with you for close to 30 laps!!!! Back and forth drafting several times per lap! With the exception of a couple of spots in the infield, it seemed that we were a mirror image of each other on driving lines and brake points. Your cleanliness and patience on every lap .... very very enjoyable! I hope I reciprocated from your view .... I tried not to take unnecessary risks that would have put us both in a hazardous situation.

The last couple of laps had me thinking strategy for the finish line. Tire wear was phenomenal, so that didnt play into planning .... but I had to come up with something different for the last half lap. Leading robiker coming out of the bus-stop, I dove for the bottom. After holding that through the corner, I came to the top of the track and the zig that he was alittle late on following..... but he still had the draft/run on me. Another hundred feet Robiker, and this 0.066 finish would have been different!!

Thanks for hosting Mopar, and big thanks to Robiker for outstanding lap after lap racing!

That's because I took them over for you. I haven't spun/run off/etc. on DRC that much ever before!

    Grats on the win!

    Hopefully back from the Abyss!

Great flick by James Cameron by the way...

I haven't had the best luck at DRC either. The bus stop chicane and braking for T-1 are usually trouble spots, but this car is a joy to drive.
You and I had some minor contact, but nothing that really slowed us down. There was one time on the banking when you stayed on the bottom as I was trying to draft past you. I started to make the pass, but got a bad feeling and backed-off. Whenever I try to make a drafting pass up high, I usually hit the wall. Maybe I just need more practice.
Congrats again on the win. I really enjoyed racing with you.

    Re: [2] Camaro SS RM '10 | Wednesday August 17 | DRC

I ran an amateur race at DRC a few months ago in the Rx-8 and i was racing for the win then with 2 laps to go i was able to gain some distance on my two competitors as they washed them selfs away at the bus stop. Going into T1 for the 29th and last time i drove it in about 5 feet too deep and i caught a tire full of grass and i saw my 1st place finish slip away.

That place has the hardest T1, then maybe...Indy road course.
