From the TPRA News:
The famous "Esses".
New information has been revealed indicating that the famous Mount Panorama Circuit (commonly known as Bathurst) in Australia will end up in a Gran Turismo game.
During this year’s Bathurst 12-Hour Endurance event, Polyphony Digital were seen at the circuit taking photographs and driving around in a camera car. PD had reportedly gained a license to use the circuit and were hard at work getting information on the circuit to "scan" it into the game. Evidence of PD's involvement with Bathurst can be traced back to '06 when Kaz Yamaucbi commented that "Bathurst is our road map".
The circuit is highly regarded by racing fans, drivers and Gran Turismo fans alike - Bathurst is in fact the fourth-most requested circuit on GTPlanet's Feedback Forum. The circuit itself is famous for its tricky "esses" section that includes "The Dipper" It's like a never-ending version of the infamous corkscrew corner at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway in the United States. The "esses" section is lined with concrete walls, throws the cars around the Forrest's Elbow hairpin and then spits the cars out onto the ever-dazzling Conrod Straight. Bathurst is a staple on the calendar of the fast and furious Australian V8 Supercars Series.
The circuit would certainly be a welcome edition in to GT5 as new DLC (Downloadable Content), just like Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps was back in October in GT5's first DLC pack. But is Bathurst actually intended for GT6? Want to give your opinion? Vote in the poll and discuss this new revelation with other forum members!
