As I left off last month, I went over the growing pains of a rookie and the do's
and don'ts on the way up.Now it's time to race in the TPRA and you are as lost as
a mouse in a maze. What should you do first? Were do you go? Who do you ask for help?
I hope to answer some of these and maybe a little more.
There is a video that is linked
in the November event thread that will show you some of the action that you can expect
running with the TPRA.(yes most of you have seen this) The racing is close, door
handle to door handle. And very, very little contact. If this looks like fun to you....
continue on reading. If not..... you are officialy dead and should be in a bodybag.
Ok,
the first step is to go to the link that the TPRA_EVENT_STAFF has posted and follow
the steps on how to register. Now that you have done this, the next step,(this is
only a option and not manditory at this time) is to get on TS. If you can't use the
TS option, the chat rooms on the XMB work well. So now you are all set to run.......
but the race is a few days off. What will you do now? PRACTICE!!!!!!! Once you have
entered a event, you will get the start times for the practice races. Get out there
and run with the other drivers. This way if you are new to any of them, you will
get a chance to see how they drive and they will get to know your style.
Now you need
to send in a Q time. Again there is links in the TPRA_EVENT_STAFF post that will
take you to the proper places. The night of the race, the divisions will be posted
(in the same thread) and your starting position, PP level and the other drivers in
you group. So what next? DRIVERS MEETING!!! This is manditory and if you miss this,
you will not get a chat invite to your division and will miss the races. So make
sure that HOME on the PSN is up to date.
Now it is race time. Your stomache is flipping
and your palms are all sweaty, you are doughting if you can run with the others that
have raced in the TPRA before. You wonder if you will make a fool of yourself, will
you take out 1/2 the field on the first turn?.................
CONGRATULATIONS..........YOU
ARE NOW A RACER IN THE TPRA!!!!!!
